Work: Abu Dhabi Outdoor

Challenge: Rival businesses and a lack of outdoor media regulations and standards was causing the Abu Dhabi public landscape to look like a messy and confused market-place. Abu Dhabi needed to establish and roll-out a series of regulations, based on international expertise, in order to deal with a rise in outdoor signage competition. Some signs were radically large and others aesthetically disjunctive with the architectural image Abu Dhabi was developing at the time.

Solutions: We researched and brought together an internationally recognized team of experts to form a coalition to respond to the Abu Dhabi government RFP.

Results: Successful development of an international outdoor media and marketing standard plan of action for the city of Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Note: the city of Abu Dhabi decided to choose a service provider other than my client (a company based out of the UK). I should also note that have generally found it difficult to hold large clients in the Middle East accountable to LOI’s. I mention this project to illustrate this RFP development, that took our industry leading professional team a few months to compile. We were not the team ultimately chosen for this project for reasons I was not told.

Skills Needed: International business relations, partnership negotiations, outdoor media research and sales presentation development (I also flew into Abu Dhabi to deliver presentations to local royalty and city planning team).
